WMR Biomedical is an early-stage venture-backed company operating in the area of biomaterials-based medical devices. The company, whose scientific founders include George Whitesides and Bob Langer, utilizes its expertise in organic and polymer chemistry, material science, biophysics, microfluidics, micro- and nanotechnology, cell-surface biochemistry and drug delivery in the development of novel medical devices.

Prior to WMR, from May 2000 through 2006, Mr. Roth was at Percardia, Inc., a venture-backed start-up in Merrimac, NH, where lead the development of the company's novel myocardial stent and surgical and percutaneous delivery systems. Previously, he was at Focal Inc., where he managed product and business development activities for the company's proprietary polymer technology in cardiovascular local drug delivery applications.

Mr. Roth's experience includes over 25 years in product development and program management, including 13 years at the USCI Division of C. R. Bard, Inc. Mr. Roth has extensive experience in building teams to develop complex medical devices for the cardiology market including stents, angioplasty, laser energy delivery and atherectomy catheter systems and has 10 issued patents in the field. He earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has a Master of Business Administration from Babson College.
